Important Notes for Applicants and Sponsors
- From 1 July 2025, all new nomination applications must meet the higher of either:
- the new relevant income threshold, or
- the annual market salary rate (AMSR) for the nominated occupation.
- These changes will not apply to:
- existing visa holders, or
- nominations lodged before 1 July 2025.
What This Means for Employers and Applicants
Employers nominating skilled workers should review salary arrangements to ensure compliance with the new thresholds from 1 July 2025. Applicants should also be aware that meeting the threshold is a mandatory eligibility requirement and must be satisfied at the time of lodgement.
